Darley reveals WWI sites travelers can visit in Northeastern France in an interview for the World War One Centennial Commission podcast for the WWI Centennial Commission. Created by an Act of Congress, the Commission is responsible for planning, developing, and executing programs and activities to commemorate the centennial of World War One.
Darley traveled throughout Northeastern France to tell stories related to The Great War, including destinations and communities of significance to Americans, while filming two half hours of the PBS series, “Travels with Darley: France’s Western Front.”
In her interview, Darley shares destinations ranging from an underground battlefield along the Chemin des Dames to Château de Blérancourt, where American woman Anne Morgan broke down stereotypes to help local French men, women and children during and after the war. She also tells listeners about places they can stay and great Champagne cellars and cuisine. Listen to the podcast.
