Darley Newman and the National Forest Foundation hosted a National Forest Facebook Watch Party to kick off this year’s National Forest Week.
The Watch Party took place on Thursday, July 9th and featured segments from Travels with Darley episodes that had never streamed on Facebook before. Darley presented the content from her NYC home, sharing an hour and a half of beautiful footage filmed in forests from California to New York and was online LIVE to answer questions and respond to comments during the chat.

National forests highlighted, include:
-Wyoming’s Bridger Teton National Forest outside of Jackson Hole
-Wyoming’s Medicine Bow National Forest with a visit to an over 100-year-old dude ranch, Medicine Bow Lodge and an epic road trip along the Snowy Range Scenic Byway
-Nevada/ California’s Tahoe National Forest, including kayaking Lake Tahoe and skiing with Olympian Jonny Moseley
-Illinois Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie, along old Route 66, including meeting bison
-New Mexico’s Santa Fe National Forest for mountain biking and a visit to Diablo Canyon along the Old Camino Real
-New Mexico’ Gila National Forest, including the Continental Divide Trail, a national scenic trail, and Rio Chama, a Wild & Scenic River
-California’s Angeles National Forest outside of LA with visits to Pasadena and Costa Mesa
-California’s Los Padres National Forest outside of Solvang and along Hwy 1
-North Dakota’s Dakota Prairie Grassland and Little Missouri National Grassland to mountain bike the Maah Daah Hey Trail, hike to ice caves and learn about Lewis & Clark history with scholar Clay Jenkinson and hear music with Jessie Veeder
-New York Finger Lakes National Forest for horseback riding amid the changing leaves, history of the Women’s Suffrage Movement and more
-West Virginia Monongahela National Forest for fly fishing, hiking and mountain drives
