With over 200 varieties of local plants, you’re guaranteed to see something you’ve never seen before at these Caribbean Botanical Gardens in Deshais in the Guadeloupe Islands. Pathways wind through 15 different garden areas featuring over 1000 species from around the world and breathtaking views of the sea. Local guide Ruddy Mane took me to check out some of his favorite spots, including to meet the Rainbow Lorikeets, a type of parrot that often travel together in noisy flocks. Beautiful and chatty, these birds are commonly found in the rainforests and woodlands of Australia.
