Darley Newman shines at the 67th Annual New York Emmy Awards, attending as a presenter and nominee for “Look Up Asbury Park,” alongside the New Jersey PBS team. This night brought together the best of media from the tri-state area and New York State, commemorating their inspiring work in storytelling.
Held on October 26th at the Marriott Marquis in Manhattan, this star studded New York Emmys gala celebrated excellence in the arts and sciences of television and other related media. Darley Newman and the team from her production company and NJ PBS were honored with an Emmy Award nomination in the Lifestyle Category for “Look Up: Asbury Park,” which traces the ups and downs of the diverse beach community of Asbury Park through its musical history, architecture, restaurants, events and entrepreneurs.
Darley was also honored to act as a presenter, handing out awards in the Traffic Category, which she joked about as being fitting for her long-running career as a travel journalist. This year, television journalist Bob Woodruff was also presented with the prestigious 2024 Governors’ Award, recognizing his exceptional contributions to the industry. This award honors Woodruff’s distinguished career spanning five decades and overcoming a traumatic brain injury he sustained while reporting from Iraq.
