From rooftop bars to sailboats to Times Square, where to drink in Hong Kong.

From stunning rooftops to drinks at sea, Hong Kong has some cool places to have happy hour. Whether you’re in trendy SoHo, resort-y Repulse Bay or drinking beer from a bowl, check out these top destinations to grab a cocktail in Hong Kong.

#1 SoHo

SoHo is just as hip as it sounds and to really enjoy Hong Kong nightlife, grabbing drinks here is a must. After shopping at PMQ, which has locally made goods from Hong Kong artists, head to British influenced Aberdeen Street Social, where an espresso martini is the perfect drink to get your night started.

#2 Victoria Harbor

There are lots of cool places to have a cocktail in Hong Kong, but the antique Aqualuna is probably one of the most iconic. This handcrafted boat with its dramatic red sails passes through Victoria Harbor, granting awesome views of Hong Kong Island’s urban coast and a variety of tiny islands, where you can marvel at urban and green Hong Kong. Enjoy the breeze and views of Hong Kong’s iconic skyline as you sail Victoria Harbor and perhaps head to Stanley Beach.

#3 Repulse Bay

With one of the best beaches in Hong Kong, at swanky Repulse Bay you can mix drinks with beach views at The Cabana at The Pulse, whether you lounge in a chair or a Japanese-style bath.

#4 Causeway Bay

With a Times Square that rivals New York’s for its shopping, skyscraper rich Causeway Bay may be on your cocktail list after a shopping excursion, but to see from a birds eye view, enjoy happy hour into the evening at one of Causeway Bay’s cool rooftop bars like ToTT’s at the Excelsior Hotel. The Crowne Plaza’s Club @28 serves cool cocktails with views of the famous Happy Valley Racecourse.

 #5 Lan Kwai Fong (LKF)

A top place to go out in Hong Kong and well known globally, there are lots of choices for bars and restaurants in LFK. Bao Bei offers Hong Kong locals a unique trip down memory lane and travelers insight into Hong Kong culture. This lounge serves drinks with the theme, “made in Hong Kong,” like Childhood Memory, served in Vita-Soy glass bottles.

#6 North Point

Fun with Robby at Tung Po

In the northeastern part of Hong Kong Island, North Point is home to down to earth and super fun Tung Po, where beer is served in chilled Chinese soup bowls and opened with finesse by the restaurant’s owner Robby Cheung. This lively spot will have you singing and swinging as you feast on seafood and potentially a whole lotta beer. You may find yourself ordering another just to see Robby open a bottle again. We won’t tell.

Wherever you end up, take the time to talk to a local. We’re more than sure they’ll recommend even more cool places to enjoy your next Hong Kong happy hour.
