Andrea Romano features Darley’s new Virtual Field Trip Series for National Forest Week, including a Facebook Watch Party, educational video series and #RecreateResponsibly series in Travel + Leisure.
Romano writes, “Darley Newman, TV host and producer of PBS travel series Travels with Darley, in collaboration with the National Forest Foundation and the Recreate Responsibly Coalition, is bringing about two new online video series that will help you see the beauty of U.S. national forests from the comfort of home…”
This news also got covered in Chicago Tribune, New Mexico Magazine and by travel expert and influencer Johnny Jet.
Darley’s Facebook Watch Party took viewers to 12 national forests across the USA. Darley came to viewers from her home in NYC to lead them through the evening Watch Party and answer questions, along with the National Forest Foundation, live. Almost 7,000 people watched with the party reaching over 14,800 people. The total reach of the summer campaign came in at just under 5 million!
As our public lands begin to reopen surrounding COVID-19 and people travel closer to home, Darley partnered with the Forest Foundation and Recreate Responsibly Coalition to promote responsible recreation to share responsibly travel tips in both English and Spanish through new video series, edited specifically for use on social platforms.
Additional short videos available online through social media and partner websites include a Virtual Field Trip series to inspire and educate viewers while staying at home on topics such as history, ecology, astrology, and stewardship. Spanning destinations from New York State to California, the series, accessible to adults and younger viewers, covers topics ranging from the 100th anniversary of the women’s right to vote to the American bison in honor of July’s National Bison Month.
