Santa Fe Spa and Downtown Vacation Itinerary

Day 1: Santa Fe & Spa Resort Accomodations

Travel from the Albuquerque airport to your spa & resort hotel, located 20 minutes from the Santa Fe Plaza. This property is a wellness retreat that’s pretty special. The resort boasts natural cold springs that have helped rejuvenate travelers for millennia. Healthy and tasty meals mix with a medicine wheel and puppies and fluffy chickens to help guests relax in truly unique Santa Fe style. 

Enjoy a complimentary welcome drink and the resort’s 70-acres and partake in activities including soaking, fitness, culinary classes, expressive arts, yoga, wellness, horticulture, and more. 

Dinner tonight at the restaurant on-site, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and harvest much of the farm-fresh greens and vegetables from their own organic gardens.

Day 2: National Parks & Pueblos

There are two great options for travelers to enjoy today.

OPTION 1: FULL DAY AT BANDELIER AND SAN ILDEFONSO PUEBLO 

Go hiking at Frijoles Canyon to learn about the history and culture of the Native American people who once inhabited this area. Experience petroglyphs, cliffs and caves at this lesser visited and cool national park site.

After lunch, enjoy a pottery making demonstration and a guided walk around the Plaza at San Ildefonso Pueblo. This pueblo has been occupied since the 14th century and is is one of the best known of the New Mexico living pueblos. The group will meet Elmer Torres, who once served as the Governor of San Ildefonso Pueblo, and be able to enjoy learning more about the history of the Pueblo People, including their Tewa language.

OPTION 2: GUIDED HIKE AT BANDELIER / MOUNTAIN BIKING 

Go hiking at Frijoles Canyon to learn about the history and culture of the Native American people who once inhabited this area. Experience petroglyphs, cliffs and caves at this lesser visited and cool national park site. Guided Mountain Bike excursion along the Rail Trail: This is an easy ride with great views of the surrounding mountains. There are uphill and downhill sections but, overall, it’s an easy excursion on a trail that is packed will for mountain biking.

At the end of your excursion, return to Santa Fe. Enjoy dinner in Santa Fe at one of the many great restaurants or back at your resort should you choose. Spend another night at the wellness resort.

Day 3: Horses & Relaxation

Group rides are booked by skill level and beginning level riders will not be placed on intermediate or experienced level rides. All riders must provide their height, weight and skill level at the time of booking in order to match riders to the horse and group.  Weight limits vary depending on horse availability. We cannot accommodate riders who weigh more than 225 pounds (235 lbs during winter months). After horseback riding in the morning, spend the afternoon at the resort where you can enjoy relaxation or activities. In addition to yoga and pilates, the fitness center, disc golf, archery, hatchett throwing and rifelry, there multiple pools for soaking. Enjoy open-air soaking in the natural, spring-fed post, the saltwater pool, float tank offering REST (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy or in heated natural artesian spring-fed pools.

Enjoy dinner on your own at the resort or beyond.

Day 4: Downtown Santa Fe & Boutique Hotel Charm

Today you switch accommodations to downtown boutique hotel charm. It’s just a twenty minute drive to Santa Fe’s historical district.

Your hotel tonight is a historical building that’s been totally renovated from three historical mansions. The location of this hotel is awesome, just one block away from State Capital, a ten minute walk from 16th century adobe historical houses and a half mile to the iconic Santa Fe Plaza. Each room is individually decorated with beautiful art and has its own personality. The owners of the inn are foodies, being a Cordon Bleau trained chef and Franch sommelier. Get ready for good food!

Tour historical downtown Santa Fe, followed by a Canyon Road art walking tour. Home to over 80 art galleries, Canyon Road is a “must see” for any art lover visiting Santa Fe.

Day 5: Cooking & Culture in Santa Fe

Spend the morning enjoying a cooking class. Join a small group (max. 16 people) and learn more about native cuisine or Mexican traditional preparations. 

Hear from local Chefs about the subtle intricacies of traditional cuisine savoir-faire. It is not only about using ingredients, it is about a gourmet cultural trip in the world of locally grown herbs, vegetables and more.

The afternoon is yours to explore downtown Santa Fe with its museums and arts. We recommend the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum and New Mexico Museum of Art.

Food at the downtown hotel, the Santa Fe Art Museum, chiles (something you must try in Santa Fe), the Santa Fe Farmers Market and downtown architecture.

Day 6: Depart Santa Fe

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and head to the airport. Safe travels.
