Bahamas-Style Dark ‘n Stormy Drink

My (far)-better-half Makaela and I are sailors. We cruise mostly in The Bahamas, and over the years we’ve discovered the most delicious, crowd-pleasing sundowner around– the Dark ‘n Stormy. I don’t know how it happened to a guy born in the northern prairies, but I’ve got salt in my veins.  I love being at sea, and we love to get a few pals aboard and island hop. The most beautiful scenery in the world surrounds you when at sea, which is why we fell in love with cruising the Bahamas. The islands are gorgeous; the people are kind, generous, and they love mixing and partaking in the Dark ‘n Stormy.  Nothing better than a cold, refreshing Dark ‘n Stormy in a secluded bay in the Bahamas.

Nothing easier, or tastier, while on the hook at sea overlooking a sunset with good friends and good music! Easiest thing to mix!

Dark n’ Stormy Recipe:

  • Grab a tall glass, fill with ice 1.5 oz dark rum (look for Goslings for the classic version)
  • 4-5 oz ginger beer
  • Wedge of lime
You might need a cocktail after seeing the famous Swimming Pigs in Exuma, Bahamas.
