The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted nearly every aspect of our lives and caused a great deal of uncertainty, including how we get outdoors. This set of #RecreateResponsibly videos provides tips on how we can protect ourselves, others, and places we love when we adventure outside.

Many of our public lands, including beaches, parks and forests are opening up again. Being in nature is good medicine, but it’s better for us when we enjoy it in a respectful manner. Check out these tips on how you can get outdoors, but also leave no trace, social distance and plan head to have great adventures.

We created this video series in Spanish and English collaboration with the National Forest Foundation and Recreate Responsible Coalition. Enjoy!

Travel Tip! Nature is calling. And if you’re heading out on adventures alone or with your family, remember to recreate responsibly, to help protect yourself, others, and the places we love.

As parks, trails, and beaches begin to reopen, make sure to know before you go. Check the status of the place you want to visit to make sure it’s not closed. It it’s crowded, have a backup plan in mind.

When you choose to recreate responsibly, you’re doing your part to keep yourself and others safe and healthy. Respect public lands and communities and take all of your garbage with you. Leave no trace, so we can all enjoy our public lands.

We’re all eager to get back outdoors–and we want to do it right. Prepare for facilities to be closed. Pack your lunch and essential supplies like hand sanitizer and face coverings to protect yourself and the places we love.
